About the Journal

Al-Fiqh: Journal of Contemporary Islamic Law is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and modern socio-legal challenges. The journal provides a critical platform for rigorous empirical, doctrinal, and comparative legal research addressing the adaptation and application of Sharia within pluralistic legal systems, human rights frameworks, global governance, and constitutionalism. Its thematic scope encompasses contemporary socio-economic transactions, bioethics, digital and environmental jurisprudence (Green Fiqh), as well as reforms in family law, criminal justice, and social ethics across Muslim-majority and Muslim-minority contexts. Al-Fiqh prioritizes high-quality, methodologically sound contributions—including interdisciplinary and empirical legal studies—that offer clear theoretical insights or policy implications capable of transcending localized findings to engage a global academic audience.
