Structure of an Empirical Article
  • Introduction — Background, research problems, summaries of previous relevant studies, the gap of knowledge, and research objectives. Written in one chapter without subtitles.
  • Method — Research design, data collection, population and sample, data source, data collection technique, and data analysis. Written in paragraph form.
  • Results & Discussion — Present original field data (interviews, observations, questionnaires, surveys, documents). Findings are shown in full, related to the research scope, and may include tables, graphs, or diagrams. The discussion logically explains findings against relevant sources.
  • Conclusion — A short summary of the findings and discussion, presented briefly, narratively, and conceptually. Avoid bullets and numbering.
  • References — Citations and references follow APA style (6th edition), using a reference manager (Mendeley / Zotero).
